01Choose a euro route for your next purchase
Choose the bottle if your immediate goal is Bilingual: picking it up and selling it are two separate steps, and the sale is what earns euros. Choose Crab Carcass if you also want missing Islet catches while funding gear. Choose Manta if you want the encounter as well as its sale value and are ready for combat.
If you have already found the Bow or Wishbone, read its current € offer before the next outing. Subtract your euro balance from that offer to see what you still need. Sell loot toward that gap before buying optional upgrades or gambling it; finding one bottle is a first-euro route, not a promise that every purchase is covered.
- First euro: bottle pickup → merchant sale → euro balance and Bilingual check.
- Fishing and collection: Crab Carcass pickup → equip bait → catch and kill → euro sale.
- Combat outing: bridge-islet barrel → Manta encounter → collect and sell the defeated creature.
02Get your first euro with a bottle run
Look for a very small sandy island with one palm tree, then search the ground beside the trunk for Money in a Bottle. Germany328’s 1.1.1 route and independent Steam replies identify this landmark. Use the pickup label to distinguish the loot from an ordinary empty bottle, and keep it in your inventory for the merchant trip.
- Inspect small radar markers while sailing between main islands; match the tiny sand island and single palm.
- Pick up Money in a Bottle beside the trunk, then check Money in a bottle in Steam.
- Carry the bottle to a merchant and inspect its € sale offer.
- Sell it, confirm your euro balance increased and check Bilingual separately.
03Build a repeatable euro route with Crab Carcass
For more euro loot, find three low sand patches with bones and collect the Crab Carcass pickups. Keep that bait equipped on your Fishing Rod for the Islet catch pool: Alaska Pollock, Tench, Char, Amberjack, Squid, Mahi-mahi, Starfish and Sponge. A newer or more expensive regular lure selects a different pool.
Use each haul for collection progress before selling: defeat the creature, check its Fishipedia entry and retain anything needed for an active quest. Then combine your sale trip with the nearest useful merchant. If you no longer have Crab Carcass, return to its pickup route and select it again before trying for the same euro catches.
- Collect Crab Carcass, equip the Fishing Rod and select that bait before casting.
- Defeat and collect the catches, checking off any missing entries before the sale.
- Keep Crab Carcass selected while building the haul; if it is missing from your available bait, collect it again before retrying.
- Check the merchant’s € offer, sell and compare the new balance with your purchase goal.
04Sell to a merchant without an unnecessary Bow-island detour
You can use an ordinary merchant for euro-valued loot according to two player accounts. Germany328 reports selling the bottle to any merchant; a reply by moon__lander also corrects the launch-day claim that only the new archer pays euros, and the original poster accepts that correction. The practical check is the item’s displayed payout, not the merchant’s costume.
If you are already beside the Bow seller, sell there and make the purchase in the same visit. If a familiar merchant is closer, check the bottle or new catch there before sailing back across the map. A large dollar balance does not fund a euro-priced item, so compare the € balance with the purchase prompt.
05Keep the oil barrel for Manta if you want the encounter
The bridge-and-barrel islet offers a combat route to euros through Manta. Recognize two small rocky islands joined by a bridge, oil barrels and a warning sign. Germany328, Snake and OfficialPapi agree that throwing the interactable oil barrel into the sea starts the mini-boss encounter. Prepare your existing combat equipment and food before using the trigger.
Inspect barrels for a pickup prompt. Germany328 describes the movable one as darker and separated from the others; the interaction label is the useful check if lighting makes the color unclear. Keep that barrel for the fight you intend to start, then collect the defeated Manta for sale.
- Find the bridge, warning sign and oil barrels, then identify the barrel you can pick up.
- Ready your weapon and supplies before throwing the barrel into the sea.
- Defeat Manta and collect the creature; check collection progress before selling it.
- Take it to a merchant, confirm the € offer and sell toward your gear budget.
At the bridge but unable to start Manta?+
Check the barrels for an interaction prompt rather than trying to equip Crab Carcass. If your crew moved the usable barrel, locate it before another attempt. If it was sold, return to searching for an islet with an available trigger.
06Fix the step that is keeping your euro balance at zero
Bottle achievement unlocked but no euros: you completed the discovery step. Take the bottle to a merchant and complete the sale. Catch pays dollars: check the item and equipped bait before sailing to another seller; regular-lure catches and Crab Carcass catches use different pools. A merchant’s displayed currency is the final check before you accept the sale.
Euros earned but Bow still unaffordable: compare the Bow’s own purchase prompt with your € wallet. Keep earning toward the difference and leave arrow, quiver and Wishbone upgrades until the weapon is bought if that is your priority. Complete an arrow kill afterward for Hobin Rood; the currency unlock does not complete it.

What this guide can confirm
- The bottle, bait-islet, Bow and Manta routes were re-read in Germany328’s 1.1.1 guide and Snake’s and OfficialPapi’s later Steam guides on 2026-10-21. They are community observations, not this wiki’s gameplay test.
- The merchant correction is supported by Germany328’s guide and moon__lander’s reply, acknowledged by the Reddit route’s original author.
- The Crab Carcass pool and euro currency are visible in Snake’s 1.1.3 Fishipedia screenshots; prices and probabilities are not used as a universal budget.
- Steam’s achievement data and official Patch 1.1.2 were rechecked on 2026-10-21. The route selection, budget comparison and completion checks are editorial planning advice based on those conditions.
