01Still at Lighthouse? Finish the Shell hand-in first
Spatison and pogiloirak’s illustrated route distinguishes the Spider Crab Shell from the other drops: the Keeper takes the Shell and gives boat keys. If you defeated Spider Crab but cannot travel, return to this interaction before spending money on more gear.
- Collect the Shell after the Spider Crab fight and take it to the Lighthouse Keeper. Keep the quest return separate from ordinary crab meat.
- Complete the hand-in and receive the boat keys. Buy the Radar before setting off.
- Board the boat, open the Radar and follow the next story destination to the forest island. The August guide shows a green destination marker.
- Land and find the woman standing on a rock. Read her three-leech request; this is the first local progression task.
02Already at Forest? Search the grass for three ground pickups
The leeches for this request lie on the island’s ground. Start near the quest giver, lower your view toward the grass and make a slow sweep inland. Charlie Pork recommends watching for the pickup prompt because the small models can be hidden by vegetation.
Use an organised sweep: clear one strip of ground, move sideways and return along the next strip. Check what you collected before repeating an area. This search pattern is our suggested way to cover the ground; the sources do not establish three permanent spawn coordinates.
- Confirm that the woman is asking for three leeches before beginning the sweep.
- Search the grass with the camera low, pausing when a pickup prompt appears. Collect the leech rather than casting a rod into the sea.
- After collecting all three, return to the same woman and complete her exchange. Check that the boss bait is now available before heading to the shoreline.
Stuck at two of three, or seeing a red Radar dot?+
Sweep the unsearched grass and check the pickup prompt first. In the August Steam discussion, the Radar-dot suggestion was disputed by a co-op player who found the dot was their friend. Use the Radar for travel and inspect the ground for this collection task.
03Use the quest bait when your fighting kit is ready
The leech exchange provides the island-boss bait, documented as Modified Leech in the progression walkthrough. Equip that bait on the rod for Giant Piranha. A shop’s Beginner Boss Lure serves a separate mini-boss route, so buying it does not replace the woman’s exchange.
Before casting, check that you have a usable ranged weapon, a close-range option for small piranhas, food and space for the quest trophy. This preparation order keeps your spending tied to the next fight. A faster boat can help travel later; it does not complete the leech request.
- Can fight but run out of recovery: carry edible fish before triggering the encounter.
- Can reach the boss but cannot land useful shots: use a ranged weapon you can aim consistently and check its ammunition or available upgrades.
- Small piranhas interrupt movement: keep a melee option ready to clear the ones immediately blocking you.
04After Giant Piranha: return the trophy before sailing
Collect the distinct boss trophy before selling the other drops. Spatison and pogiloirak identify it as the Skeleton and show a flash drive with the next island’s tracker as the hand-in reward. Take the trophy back to the woman on the rock and complete her interaction.
The walkthroughs disagree on the trophy’s name: Charlie Pork calls it a tail, while the illustrated Steam guide and the progression walkthrough use Skeleton. Check the item name and the woman’s request in your game. The shared route is the important part: the post-fight trophy must go back to the quest giver.
- Pick up the Giant Piranha quest trophy after the fight and keep it with you.
- Return to the woman who gave you the boss bait and hand over the requested trophy.
- Check for the tracker reward, the changed dialogue and the Dinnertime achievement. Steam describes the goal as catching dinner for the lady in the forest.
- Reopen the Radar and follow the newly unlocked story destination toward Island 3, the Desert stage.
05Match the blocker to the next unfinished hand-in
Use the last completed exchange to locate your next action. This is quicker than repeating a boss fight or buying equipment when the missing step is an item return.
- Spider Crab defeated, boat unavailable → check the Shell return to the Lighthouse Keeper and collect the keys.
- At Forest, no Giant Piranha bait → finish the three-leech exchange with the woman on the rock.
- Boss defeated, no new story destination → collect its distinct trophy, return it to the same woman and check the tracker reward.
- No leeches found after a full ground sweep → record your version, quest state and solo/co-op mode. Compare those details with the linked Steam thread before changing the session; its invite-only-session suggestion is a launch-period report, not a confirmed current fix.

What this guide can confirm
- Official: Steam supplies the Dinnertime condition. It does not provide the detailed leech, bait or trophy walkthrough.
- Community: the Shell, keys, three ground leeches, boss-bait exchange and final trophy return were cross-checked on 2026-10-21. The pictured Skeleton and tracker come from Spatison and pogiloirak’s August guide.
- Version boundary: these are documented story hand-ins and player tactics, not a new 1.1.3 playtest. Source disagreement about the trophy label is explained beside the return step; historical prices and spawn-reset claims are not prerequisites in this route.
