Islet Update: Patches 1.1.0–1.1.3

The How to Fish Islet Update 1.1.0 arrived on September 28, 2026, adding mini islands, creatures, a mini-boss, equipment and achievements. For a returning run, use 1.1.3’s Fishipedia bait hints, retry Tench after the 1.1.2 fix and inspect the larger mini-island radar dots. The official feed checked October 21 still lists 1.1.3 as the latest patch; the October 12 announcement describes future work.

Reviewed 2026-10-21. Evidence scope: Official 1.1.0–1.1.3 notes and news feed rechecked 2026-10-21. This guide is updated when key route details can be checked.

01Start here if your last run was on 1.0.12

Check the version at the bottom right of the main menu before resuming an older save. The first content update, 1.1.0, adds mini islands and new equipment, creatures, bait, a mini-boss and achievements. The September 29 follow-up patches make that content easier to find and correct the Tench bait issue.

Pick your next task before sailing: collection hunters can start with Fishipedia, equipment hunters with the Bow’s euro purchase, and achievement hunters with the three new goals. The existing story-island route remains useful for finding main shops while you inspect the small radar markers between them.

  1. Use 1.1.3 or later for bait hints; if Steam is still serving an earlier patch, restart Steam and check for the update.
  2. Open Fishipedia, identify a missing normal or Drip entry and read the bait hint for any creature already killed.
  3. Choose your outing: collect Crab Carcass, earn euros for the Bow or prepare Manta’s barrel encounter.
  4. After the outing, check the in-game collection entry, euro balance or Steam unlock that matches your goal.

02Find mini islands using the updated radar

Version 1.1.0 changes the distance between islands, and 1.1.2 makes mini-island radar dots larger. During a returning run, use the live dots to inspect nearby stops instead of following a pre-update video’s sailing time. Main-story progression still uses the quest dialogue and hand-ins.

The community routes distinguish five useful landmarks: a single palm for bottle money, three sand patches for Crab Carcass, archery targets for the Bow, an oil-barrel bridge for Manta and rocky parkour pillars for Wishbone. Match the visible island to your task before landing, then continue checking other markers if you find a different stop.

03Check Bow controls and current Wishbone prices

Patch 1.1.2 adds reload rebinding and two Bow skins. If the Bow does not respond to an old keyboard instruction, check the equipped weapon and your Reload binding before making another arrow-kill attempt. The Bow remains a euro purchase at the archery-target islet in the attributed player routes.

The same patch changes Wishbone upgrade pricing and restores the option to downgrade to ironsight. Compare current shop offers with your wallet when returning from an old save or budget guide. The patch also makes shiny fishing rod skins shinier and corrects the new mini-boss model’s triangle direction.

04Retry Tench and use Fishipedia bait hints

Patch 1.1.2 fixes Tench failing to spawn from the new bait and increases bait pickups on the new mini island from two to three. The 1.1.3 community guide identifies that bait as Crab Carcass, found on the three-patch sand islet. If Tench was your blocker on the launch update, check your version and equipped bait before retrying.

Patch 1.1.3 reveals a creature’s bait in Fishipedia after you kill it once. For a missing Drip variant, use that hint to select the pool for the creature you already know. For an undiscovered normal creature, use the catch finder to obtain the setup first. Keep normal and Drip kills as separate checks and confirm each in the game.

05Check three achievements at three different completion steps

The official Steam list has 31 achievements as checked October 21, 2026. If you want the Islet additions, collect Money in a Bottle, sell it for your first euros, then earn enough to buy the Bow and kill a creature with an arrow. Check each unlock at the matching step so you can identify what remains.

  • Money in a bottle: check after finding and picking up bottle money.
  • Bilingual: check after the first euro is earned, including a completed euro sale.
  • Hobin Rood: check after an arrow kills a creature.

06What is coming after 1.1.3?

In the October 12 announcement, Dazed Games says a bigger content update, console ports and bug fixes are in progress for the coming months. The official feed rechecked October 21 still has 1.1.3 as its latest patch. Use the released 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 fixes above for your current run; a date for the future content update has not been announced.

What this guide can confirm

  • Official 1.1.0 notes confirm content categories and changed island spacing, but do not publish named creature totals, item locations or NPC coordinates.
  • Official 1.1.2 notes confirm the Tench fix, bait spawn count, radar visibility and equipment adjustments; no catch odds or Wishbone price table are supplied.
  • Official 1.1.3 notes confirm that a Fishipedia bait hint appears after the first kill, not merely after hooking a creature.
  • Official patch notes, the Steam news feed and achievement data were rechecked on 2026-10-21. Community Steam guides were re-read for the named landmarks, bait and purchase routes; this wiki does not claim an independent playthrough.
  • The October 12 announcement discusses future content and console ports without a release date or named target consoles.
